Ninja Nation , the premier provider of world-class obstacle course arenas and the ultimate indoor play space, is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest franchise location in Mahoning Valley. The franchisees, Kyle and Samantha Leonard, are set to launch their 14,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Ninja Nation Obstacle Arena in the Spring of 2025 at 7394 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512 . This exciting expansion marks Ninja Nation’s entry into the Ohio market.

With a growing footprint that includes nine Ninja gyms and eleven mobile courses across Colorado, Texas, North Carolina, California, Arizona, Washington, Tennessee, Florida, and now Ohio, Ninja Nation continues its nationwide expansion, with 19 additional arenas under development. The Glendale location, set to open in early November 2023, will be located at 6750 W Deer Valley Rd., M-101, Glendale AZ 85310, and the Scottsdale location, anticipated to open its doors in February, will be located at 15449 N Hayden Rd Ste 101, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. These additions will be joined by a mobile arena offering that will become available in October.

The first event in our new partnership!

T his year, Ninja Nation is partnering with Tough Mudder’s new kids program, and we stopped by their Colorado event!

It was wonderful to see so many of our members getting muddy, and we met a lot of Mudders who'll love stopping by our Colorado arenas!

We were able to bring some of our mobile obstacles to the event. We set up some dead hang challenges on the first day, and a grip gauntlet on the second. Both were a big hit with Mudder of all ages!

Tough Mudder is coming to the Dallas area in November! Our Frisco and Murphy members can sigh up here .

Training for Tough Mudder Part 3

This year, Ninja Nation is partnering with Tough Mudder! Tough Mudder is all about teamwork and overcoming obstacles. They hold mud runs and obstacle course events for adults every year, and this year they have two brand new Tough Mudder Kids courses! Mighty Mudder for 8-12 year olds, and Mini Mudder for 5-7 year olds.

If you want to take on a Mudder course, there’s no one better to train you than Coach K. He’s ranked 20th in the country in Spartan Racing, and he’s the Reigning North American Age Group Champion in the 3k, and this week he has some exercises to prepare our members for another obstacle.

Coach K has already given us his tips for the Everest and Kiss of Mud obstacles. Now, he has some advice for getting through Texas Hold’em. This obstacle is all about balance. You’ll grab hands with a friend, lean away from each other, and shuffle sideways. If you want to succeed, Coach K has three tips:

1: Communicate with your partner.

2: Take it slow and steady.

3: Pick a partner with the same build as you.

To get ready for Texas Hold’em, Coach K recommends training balance and core. You can start by balancing on one leg for time, and doing planks and side-planks to build your core. If you come into our arenas to train, our balance rails are perfect for training balance, and if you bring a friend, we can use our quad-steps to make a training version of Texas Hold’em!

Last week, Coach K-- the new head coach at Ninja Nation Huntersville--gave some tips on conquering the Everest obstacle. Coach K is ranked 20th in the country in Spartan Racing, and he’s the Reigning North American Age Group Champion in the 3k, and this week he has some exercises to prepare our members for the Kiss of Mud obstacle.

T he Kiss of Mud will have athletes crawl on their stomachs through deep mud. Coach K had three tips on getting through it:

1: Get Low! You want to get all the way down onto your stomach.

2: Chicken wings out! Instead of using your hands, put your elbows out to the sides like chicken wings and crawl forward on your forearms.

3: Use your legs! Your arms can’t do all the work. Remember to push yourself forward with your lower body.

To get strong for this obstacle, Coach K recommends working your core and your back. Do your pullups and pushups, and add in some hanging knee raises (h ang by your hands from a bar and bring your knees to your chest ).

If you want to simulate the Kiss of Mud in one of our arenas, you can try crawling across our airbags. Just get a coach’s permission to make sure you aren’t crawling under anyone.

There will be a Tough Mudder Kids event in Colorado on July 24 ^th and 25 ^th , and one in Dallas on November 6 ^th and 7 ^th . We want to see our ninjas crush those courses!

Our Points Based Achievements Program

Our NextLevel Program is our way to track ninjas' progress. It uses RFID wristbands to log your achievements and earn points. You can use those points to earn prizes, and to level up and earn new wristbands!

You earn NextLevel points by completing achievements.

Achievements are obstacles and challenges you can find in our gyms. When you want to earn points, you can find a coach to scan your band. Once you show them you can complete and achievement, they'll give you points for it.

There are two kinds of NextLevel Points:

NINJA POINTS are awarded once and only once for each achievement. These progress you towards your next band.

HERO POINTS can be earned multiple times for the same achievement. These win you prizes from our store!

There are six NextLevel wristband colors. You start with a white band. From there, it takes 4,000 to earn you green band. At 8,000 points, you earn you blue band.

You can't earn your red band with just points. You need 16,000 Ninja Points and you need to participate in a Ninja Nation Quarterly Competition! For the black band, you need 30,000 points and a podium finish at a competition, and for the final titanium band, you need 60,000 points and a first place finish at a competition!

Our NextLevel program is great motivation to progress and get stronger, and the achievements are lots of fun! If you want to build your skills, you can sign up today and start earning points!

Take a class at Ninja Nation

What will your class look like?

All of Ninja Nation's classes are designed to bring out a ninja's full potential. They're for the beginner looking to learn the basics to play and train safely, and for intermediate and seasoned athletes looking to develop their current skill set and take their abilities to the next level.

We have four development classes: Balance and Agility , Climbing and Grip , Skills , and Obstacle Flow . Each class is divided into four age-groups: Junior (5-7), Preteen (8-12), Teen (13-17), and Adult (17+).

Each class starts with stretches and exercises to get the body moving and ready to work.

Then, the different classes move on to the different skills they focus on. Each class will have a few different stations, with challenges and obstacles following the theme of that class. Next will be a conditioning section working on the fitness needed to improve the skills you've been working on, and then kids classes have games which use those skills!

C lass ends with a cool down and stretching.

A Ninja Nation Mobile Course

What will your mobile event look like?

A Ninja Nation Mobile event is a great way for a community to try ninja warrior for the first time. Our courses are fun for all ages and abilities, from kids who've never stepped on an obstacle in their lives to pro ninjas. They test balance, agility, and strength for ninjas of any level. They come with a huge variety of obstacles, like trapeze bars, trampolines, rings, cargo nets, awarped wall,and more! A mobile course is theperfect way for a big group of people to try out a ninja warrior course in a fun, safe environment.

Our course sets up in two and a half hours, tears down in an hour and a half, and you get six hours in between to have as much fun with it as possible! It can fit into any space and onto any surface: Concrete, wooden gym floors, grassy fields, even snow!

Our courses cater to all kinds of events, from fundraisers to festivals to corporate team building. We can cater to whatever you need!

Our First Cross Regional Classic

Our Elite Teams Competing Head-to-Head

Last weekend, the Lafayette Elite Team made the trip down to Ninja Nation Centennial to take on their Elite Team in a three-round competition. This was the first Cross-Regional Classic, a competition between Ninja Nation locations for Elite Team members only. We will be holding these Classics every quarter. Lafayette will host the next one!

The first round was a skills challenge. Each Ninja had one attempt at each of six skills: Cliffhangers, a rope-swing, monkey bars, balance, laches, and the salmon ladder. Round two was head-to-head races. Each ninja ran a race against a ninja on the other team. Finally, five ninjas who scored the most points in the skills challenges on each team raced each other.

The Centennial team started strong in the skills, but Lafayette came back in the races. It came down to the last race, but in the end, Team Centennial held on for the win!

We'll see if Team Lafayette can get revenge next quarter! The competition format may change--our coaches floated the idea of a relay race!--but every ninja on both teams will always get a chance to shine!

Making the most of your Open Gym Session at Ninja Nation

W e offer open open gym whenever we’re open, with one hour, two hour, and all day passes. It can be great to come in and try whatever you want to without needing to follow the structure of a class. But without that structure and the direction of a coach, it can be hard to make the most of your time. Here are some tips to help you have the best open gym session possible!

Try everything:

We have a huge variety of obstacles in our ninja warrior arenas. You never know which one will be your favorite. Especially if it’s one of your first few times in the gym, don’t be afraid to give everything a try!

C ome with a friend:

Doing ninja alone can be fun, but it’s better with a friend! Bring someone to the gym to work on things together, and show each other your skills. Your friends can lead you to new things you’d never think of on your own.

Ask a coach:

If you don’t know what to do next, ask a coach to give you a challenge. We have challenges on every obstacle, and for all levels. Our coaches can always give you something fun to work on!

P ick a skill:

Is there an obstacle you’re struggling on? A challenge you haven’t gotten? An open gym session is a great time to work on one skill for as long as you want to. Classes might move you to a new obstacle before you’re ready. With open gym, you can take as long as you need to and give everything you have to the skill you want to build.

A sk for a game:

Our staff members know lots of fun games. You can always ask them to break out the microphone and lead a few group activities for anyone who wants to join!

Your Party at Ninja Nation

What a Ninja Nation Birthday Party looks like

We pride ourselves on giving the ultimate birthday party experience. But what is that experience?

When you get to the gym, our front desk staff will greet you and introduce you to a staff member who will be helping you out in the party room. They will give you a special cart for gifts and snacks, and check everyone in.

Once all of the kids are checked in and given wrist bands with the color of the birthday-child’s choice, they will go out onto the arena floor for a fun warmup, with games to get their bodies moving. Then it’s time for open gym, with coaches on the floor to help them with the obstacles and give them exciting challenges. If your party is hosted, your host will guide the kids through some of our most fun and iconic obstacles.

Throughout the hour and a half on the floor, staff members will lead games like “the floor is lava” to keep everyone engaged and having fun. For the last half hour of party-time, you’ll leave the floor and head to a party room for pizza, cake, and gifts!

Competitions

Yo u've played, you've trained, and now you're ready to compete. What can you expect at a Ninja Nation competition?

Quarterly Competitions:

Each of our locations holds quarterly competitions. Each age group (Juniors, Preteens, Teens, and Adults) will have their own course. The competition is divided into waves, with each wave being for just one age group. You'll sign up for a wave in your age group, and get to the gym at or before the start time for that wave.

Once you arrive at the gym, you will check in at the front desk, and the staff will give you a wrist band. After that, you can start warming up. You won't be allowed to practice any obstacles on the course. Instead, there will be an area of the gym marked off for warming up. Ask a staff member if you need help finding it.

At the beginning of each wave, a coach will do a course walkthrough explaining the rules for the course and demonstrating the obstacles. This is your time to ask any questions you have about the course, the obstacles, or the rules. Later, the coaches will be busy running the competition, so ask during the walkthrough!

There are a few different rule-sets our competitions can follow. The most common is a mulligan system. In this system, you will run through the course until you fall. After one fall, you will use your mulligan to retry that obstacle. If you fall again, you time will stop. You can continue your run for fun, but you can't earn any more points. Whoever competes the most obstacles wins, with ties being broken by the faster time. In the mulligan system, a ninja who finishes without using their mulligan will always win over a ninja who uses their mulligan, regardless of the time.

Sometimes, competitions will be points-based. This means that each obstacle counts for one point, and if you fall, you move onto the next obstacle. Your time doesn't stop after a fall, and you can still earn points on the later obstacles. The coaches will explain during the walkthrough what the rules are for this competition.

After the walkthrough, there will be some more warmup time, and then runs will start! A run-order will be posted, and the coaches will call you up for your run. When all of the runs are done, there will be redemption time, so ninjas who competed can try the course again, and maybe get revenge on any obstacles that tripped them up.

At the end of each age-group, the coaches will set up a podium, and the top three male and top three female ninjas from that division will be awarded medals. This is a great time for pictures, whether you make the podium or not!

National and State Ninja Leagues:

Ninja Nation locations also host National Ninja League competitions, and some state and local league competitions. There are a few differences to keep in mind between these and our quarterly competitions:

-Age groups may be different. The National Ninja League, has twice as many divisions as we do!

-Pricing may be different, and leagues may require you to sign up with them before competing in one of our league competitions.

-Many of our league competitions offer prizes and trophies!

Changing Things Up:

We like to try new things with our competitions, like team competitions, or speed competitions! Make sure to check the website or Facebook page for the location where you'll be competing to see what the next competition will be!

Ninja Care Summer Camp

Ninja Care is the Ultimate Day-Camp, and we're having it all Summer!

Ninja Care Summer camp is our all day Ninja drop off day care. Book for one day at a time, or a whole week this summer! Ninja Care features professional instruction on obstacles, camp games, team-building exercises, competitions, and lots of fun.

L earn ninja skills in our arenas, run obstacle courses, play games, make friends, and get to know our ninja coaches! Ninja care has all kinds of activities! It’s also a great way to get in shape. Some kids from last summer’s ninja care have made it onto our elite team, and now compete in ninja warrior competitions like the NNL and UNAA.

It’s not all hard work on the obstacles. Our coaches lead the kids in arts and crafts in between structured classes and open gym time on our arena floors. We also provide snacks and lunch.

We have curbside pickup and drop-off for safety and the convenience of parents. We also have a max number of participants in controlled grouping to allow for contact tracing and CDC recommended social distancing. We will continue to perform increased safety and sanitation procedures and will follow all local mask mandates.

Saturday, June 30, 2018 - We held the Grand Opening of our first Ninja Nation location in Lafayette, CO.

We were overjoyed and overwhelmed with the 2500 people who showed up to celebrate with us. The opening featured a Ninja Showcase with Ninja Nation's own Geoff Britten, Brian Arnold, Jamie Rahn, Ryan Stratis, and Rian McLean as well as guest Ninjas Rachael Goldstein, Adam Rayl, Austin Grey, and Barclay Stockett. We even had surprise appearances by Rocky the Denver Nuggets mascot and Chip the Buffalo from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

We had a blast and we hope you did too. Thank you to all of you who came out to support us in our Grand Opening and for having fun experiencing our world-class obstacle course arena.

(Denver, CO) Ninja Nation is a world-class obstacle course facility making its debut in Colorado with the first location opening in June 2018. The flagship arena is located just north of Denver in Lafayette, with state of the art equipment and developmental programming that empowers everyone to become their own Super Hero!

Founded by Colorado entrepreneur, Wayne Cavanaugh, Ninja Nation brings the arena experience to life and makes the sport of obstacle racing accessible to all ages and skill levels. Some of the country’s top Ninja Warrior athletes have joined Ninja Nation to lead the creative, operations and coaching teams. Fans will be thrilled to see American Ninja WarriorTM veterans, Geoff Britten, Jamie Rahn, Brian Arnold, Ryan Stratis and Karsten Williams as members of the Ninja Nation team.

“As Ninja Warriors, we have all worked with kids and athletes who have been transformed by this sport – seeing people gain confidence and determination is incredibly powerful,” said Geoff Britten, American Ninja Warrior athlete and Creative Director for Ninja Nation. “Joining the Ninja Nation team gives us the chance to introduce the sport to even more people in a safe and encouraging environment. There’s nothing else like it, and we know you’ll be blown away by the experience we’ve created.”

These Ninjas have been working together to build the most inventive and dynamic obstacle courses ever constructed. Each obstacle has been thoughtfully developed to encourage progression of skill, making it possible for beginners and elite athletes to tackle the same course at different levels of difficulty. And unlike other facilities, the Ninja Nation obstacles are designed to transform, so the courses will be ever-changing and always dynamic.

Top of the line obstacles are just the beginning. Ninja Nation arenas will also feature the most advanced technology available, with audio, video and lighting producing a complete “Sportainment” experience that is one of a kind.

“Every detail at Ninja Nation has been designed to create a fun and empowering environment where you feel like a super hero in your own video game,” said Britten. “You even get to choose your own hero name. And in addition to the killer obstacles, we’ve developed programs where you earn points for achieving new skills and level up as you progress.”

Ninja Nation offers monthly memberships, organized classes, open gym, events, competitions, birthday parties and even a mobile unit for obstacle courses anywhere. The inaugural location in Lafayette will open in June 2018. A second Colorado location will open in Englewood, CO near the Centennial Airport in August and then Frisco, TX late this summer, with many more locations in the works.
